Since I got the proximity sensor problem , I was thinking to use power button to unlock device . Well , I noticed it's available only for locking device when it's pressed twice . Anyone has an idea how I could make this button to unlock screen if it's pressed twice ? Please help , using unlock button when someone calls me it's pretty hard to handle with one hand . :-s

1- when someone calls you the screen is unlock unless you've downloaded an application that keeps the screen locked when you recieve a call.
2- with one hand i can press the lock key and swipe the ball to unlock with my thumb

Not sure what's causing your problem but there is an app'script you can download from the repos which opens the phone with one press of the power button w/o having to also swipe the screen. Sorry I can't recall the name of it but could something like "power key...."?

I stopped using the app/script as it also closes the phone with one press and so you never get the option of using anything in the power key drop down box.

The main problem is when I am outdoor and someone calls me , the screen goes blank because proximity sensor reacts to ambient light . I want to unlock screen easy and fast with power button . I tried that powerlock application and is not very usefull for me because I have to wait like 3 seconds to unlock my screen .

The screen isn't locked in those situations... it's simply off because it thinks it's against your head.

My solution is to lock the phone app into landscape view (to avoid the rotation delay) and slide the keyboard open when I get a call.
Opening the keyboard disables the proximity sensor.

I agree that the proximity sensor is a serious defect.

Irratating with this app/script you can't seem to ever select any of the options on the powerkey dropdown menu?

I just wish it would work with one press to open and leave the two presses to close!
