Yesterday I was experiencing some problems with Yahoo IM on my N900. Experimentally I tried to remove the account and add a new one, but I was and I am unable to sign in to Yahoo.

I have tried to use tcpdump to check the traffic and as far as I can tell, the plug in makes no attempt to communicate with scsa.msg.yahoo.com while trying to sign-up, so I would guess this is a bug most likely caused by the PR 1.2 update.

Ideas anybody?

This happened to me after a full 1.2 reflash. I then installed transition control while putting back all my previously installed apps and that wouldn't open. Then I remembered that transition control wouldn't work until pygtkeditor was installed which provided some missing dependency. after installing both of those and rebooting, yahoo IM worked again. Perhaps the yahoo package is also missing a dependency.

I am sure you're absolutely right about the missing dependancy but the one you mentioned did not provide it. just installed both the ones you mention and still no go.

By the way - solution seemed to be to downgrade to 0.7 of the account-plugin-haze. As described here: http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...6&postcount=26
