Depends where you are located (or more accurately, which language/region you have defined in your device). If you are in the USA, channel 13 is an illegal channel so the N800 won't scan for it.
Only channels 1-11 are allowed in the USA, 1-13 in Europe and 1-14 in Japan (I've no idea about any other regions/countries - possibly 1-14).

Yeah, I'm not sure what limits the WiFi channels but language/region seemed the obvious choice however it could be something else entirely (no idea what!)
What is your max channel when using Singapore/UK - the maximum channel should be logged in dmesg when performing a scan.

Well, dmesg say it scans 11 channels. So I'm guessing its the default channels from 1 to 11 then.
I just got my N800 yesterday and I initially was very upset that I could not connect to my Netgear WPN824 Router. Basically, I could not see its SSID when I try to connect to it. Manually setting it doesn't work either.
Apparently, the problem was because I am running the WPN824 Wifi on Channel 13. Changing it to Channel 2 solved this problem
