Ok I really like claws-mail but I just have a question....

Do I need app opened for it to check mail?
----I know with the default mail client it checks it when the app is not even open.

second is there some type of notifier so you know you got mail?

Yes, Claws-Mail needs to be running for it to be able to collect mail.

You can use the 'Run command...' option on the Receiving page of the Prerferences to run a command when new mail arrives. For example you could use /usr/bin/play-sound

Hi. How do you get that play-sound command working, in my N800 there's no sound when new mail arrives in claws-mail?

Are you using a format that play-sound can deal with? Have you set Claws to run the command after automatic and/or manual check?
A command you can use is '/usr/bin/play-sound /usr/share/sounds/ui-new_email.wav'

I used that ui-new_email.wav sound but still no sound. I have automatic check on but how you can choose that manual/automatic check thing? There's only possible to choose how often it checks new mail, I have 15 minute interval.

Yes it is, I tested it in xterm with play-sound command and it worked but not it claws-mail. I think I have it wrong in claws-mail because I have use it with path and with no path, like: play-sound /usr/share/sounds/ui-new_email.wav but nothing happend. I don't understand. Is there in path possible something wrong but again why play-sound command produce sound in xterm? I'm little bit confused, seems easy to add that command but still I can't get it working.

I got it! So simple solution: just close and start the program and that's it. Sorry for these silly questions but I hope somebody else learn from this.

Thank you for advice!!
