just guessing but try following:

video: this-is-my-movie.avi
subs: this-is-my-movie.srt
(place them in the same folder)

(extensions may vary ^^)

also, there are some settings for the subtitle plugin in the phone settings menu.
There, you can activate the plugin and configure the subtitles font.

To have subtitles in default Media player you need first to install Subtitles Support from extras-devel repository and then enable them in menu Settings. Did you do that?

If you have problem loading the subtitle in mplayer, probably it's due to the encoding, because most subtitle you found in the Internet are generated under Windows.

You may chnage the encoding to utf8 which can be played under N900:

Hope this help.

Hi guys I am having problems with some subtitles not showing in Media Player. srt and movie are the same. to get them to show I have to uninstall and reinstall Subtitles Support, which is a pain as I don't always have internet access.

Any ideas if there's a fix for it? Anyone else experiencing this?

Thx
