hey guys (and girls).

for some reason my cpu usage is on 50% all the time (even in offline mode and on stand-by) and i think that is the reason my battery is draining rather fast.

and i have no clue what is causing it. the applications i installed are wifi-switcher,batterygraph and 2g/3g switcher.

i deleted facebook and the foreca weather widget

and i put everything in the most powersaving mode i can possibly do. ( internet connection to always ask,i turned gps, bluetooth and internetconnection off, and every application to manual update.)

anyone got the same issue or knows a fix for it ?

thanks in advance.

Have you recently loaded a large amount of media (music, videos) on the device?

Run top in the terminal and post a screenshot.

Most frequent culprits for high cpu usage tend to be either the browser open on a page with lots of javascript, or the tracker daemon pouring over files.

I suggest installing Conky and taking a screenshot.

go to X-Term, run command "top" and see the CPU eater.

But based on 4G music - it is mostly possibility - tracker and music renderer.

Switch phone OFF and ON, install KMPlayer and use it instead of built-in media player until PR1.2 is published. PR1.2 can solve a couple of bugs related with media playing.

Yep that's the culprit. Now to find out what it is...

Edit: problem found: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?p=486224

It's fixed in PR1.2, but until then you're SOL

You'll have to restart to stop the CPU guzzling. As a workaround, try using kmplayer (with mplayer as the media player) until PR1.2 (should be around late April/early May)

Yes, that is a music - DSP bridge is used during MP3 decode.
