My n900's gone all weird on me. The screen basically isnt going off at all. Its bright then dim then about to switch off and goes back to bright then dim... it keeps doing this. When i lock the screen using the double press of the Power button switch off then second later its back on. Same thin goes for the slide lock on the side. Ive flashed the FW and the emmc but stil no luck.

Any ideas what i should do?

hmm my best guess is that there is something wrong with the keyboard in/out sensing reed contact. try cleaning your N900 =D

Open an x terminal, and run this command

dmesg

try opening and closing the keyboard a few times then run it again

You'll see lines like:
[115496.124389] slide (GPIO 71) is now open
[115497.069641] slide (GPIO 71) is now closed

These lines report when the keyboard sensor is triggered..

If you have the rootsh package installed, you can try this to see the sensor activity in real time as it happens:

sudo gainroot
cat /proc/kmsg

this might help you track down if the sensor is being triggered too often
