May be me being stupid but when in portrait mode how do I get the close "X" to appear?

Also how can I force the URL bar?

Neither is possible yet. You may want to install Opera, it'll provide those features.

It's convoluted but this is what I do in the car when my device is mounted in portrait:

1. Tap the folder icon in the lower right hand corner of a browser page in portrait mode.

The page will go away leaving your Bookmarks page in portrait mode.

2. Tap the task switcher icon in the upper left hand corner of that Bookmarks page.

The Bookmarks page will reduce to the task chooser view where you can close it with the "X" or tap outside in a blank area to return to your desktop.

Fennec also provides a Close button in portrait mode.

I understand they released the 1.1 RC 1 today.

I'll give that another go but I always found problems with Fennec that I don't seem to have with MicroB.

To be fair, after that^ statement, I'll post here if I find out differently with this version.

Isn't it easier to just click power button and tap "end current task" ?
