The lastest OVI suite put out a couple of day ago to the upgrade of the first OVI suite to support the N900 does not sync contacts.

Its weird. all the rest syncs fine but when it comes to contacts it thinks the phone is not connected and comes up with some message to that effect , ie reconnect your phone....

Its a drag, waited long enough for OVI to work with N900 then they update it a couple of weeks later and now it does not sync the most useful thing!

NOKIA, are you out there. Your Support for the N900 is rubbish and stop using us as the testers. Do some testing in house first! You've been making phones for a long time, you should be better than this.

Fix the international dialling too!!!! How long have you been making phones? Even the new boys don't have such trivial issues!

I think the n900 as a device is great but the OS and apps are really not up to it at all. I feel like I have a really early preproduction model of this device. And I have had really early preproduction models of handsets from lots of suppliers and they are not as bad in many respects.

I agree totally the N900 has been orphaned by Nokia. Having spent £500 on this phone on launch and the simplest things have not been fixed. Nokia's handset devision needs to get them to return to the same high quality in software as the hardware built quality. There is no reason why smiple thing just don't work. Move from Symbian to Maemo was exciting but now I just filled with frustation. Never like ovi suite in the first place but you would think for the ordinary user that's using it should simplify oprations and work but no!

Make sure you have the sync options configured for the Contacts application. I had the same problem until I went in and checked the box to tell it to sync to my Ovi account.

Please refer to http://www.forum.nokia.com/ , go there and flame from your heart!

This is NOS related and nothing maemo community can do about! (N900 support is poor why do you try to use it anyway?)

For guidance: you wont be able to edit all fields from N900 in NOS as they wont show but they wont get lost AND you wont be able to edit all fields from NOS on N900 as they wont show but they wont get lost.

It's not that we are hoping Nokia is listening I was just say as anyone should when expressing an opinion why maemo is just not working on this device that Nokia made.

I know it is advertised other but a single google search gives you a hint of what to expect, and if you are not running apps from testing and devel the thing just works as it should. Now strike out extras at all that is what you get with other phones (ovi-store). PC-Suite works and NOS has problems with other phones too and as I told in the testing forums it was everything but close to release when released. For any extras software you get support over here like from no company ever.
I'd like to have a proper Nokia Car-holder too and oviMaps3 but please where is the real let down? That we don't get an MeeGo upgrade served with a silver spoon? That we have no 3billion apps where 2.99 billion are just forks (this would make at least 50mil tetris apps!!!), 600k wallpapers, themes, ringtones, ebook apps... I can produce 1k rollerpens for 10eur in china or a single full metal housing rollerpen for 15eur... they will last the same time I guess.

For example... next Windows8 needs >3GB RAM, your notebook got a two DDR1 slot so max. 2GB. The windows version would run on that machine but you won't be able to upgrade as it denies service. What your notebook is only 9 month old?! Happens... no windows8 for you at least not as long as noone releases a workaround to run it with DDR1 2GB...
