I have been trying to look for a telnet application or maybe just how to turn on telnet on N900.

Do you guys have any idea on how to accomplish this?

Thanks.

Are you sure you want to send your root password unencrypted over the air? You'd better use SSH, there is OpenSSH client and server available, or you can use Dropbear which is basically the same thing.

I guess so but since Nokia's BSCs and MSCs can only support telnet so I guess we have to have telnet. I still do not understand why Nokia have this.

Erm? there is a telnet app in the repos... I guess you need telnet to connect to other systems.

The telnet client (and server) is in extras-devel, last time I checked.

You don't really want that, that's the telnet server - only useful if you want to telnet into your N900. Far more secure to use ssh.
