With the introduction of the Qt Messaging Framework (QMF) in MeeGo - which seems to provide capabilities above and beyond those of Modest/libtinymail - does this mean the end of Modest?
I can't honestly say I would shed a tear for Modest if it were put out of it's misery, the development of a usable email client framework on Maemo by Nokia has been a long and tortuous affair that has yielded - after many years - a quite frankly low quality solution with numerous basic bugs that get precious little attention in Bugzilla.
Let's hope a decent email client can be slapped on top of QMF and MeeGo will have the email client it deserves.
And if QMF can be ported to Maemo5/6, perhaps a new and more capable email client will become available for these operating systems too!
