Alright, got the N900 yesterday.

Went to connect to Wi-Fi today, connects. Doesn't work. So I did some research, and discovered the whole power setting thing. Turned power saving off.

Makes absolutely no difference, at all. Wi-fi connects, and then does nothing. Not a single thing at all.

Do I have a warranty claim on hand already, or am I doing something wrong?

So far I am finding no advantages on this phone over my HTC Dream, other than the fact that it was available, and the Dream wasn't anymore.

It has N900Fly. The HTC Dream doesn't have that.

Also, chances are that your problem has nothing to do with "the whole power setting thing". Maybe if you described how you're connecting to what kind of network, someone here might be able to debug it with you.

not the N900 faults! It is your own connection fault. Reset your router and configure the connection properly. Also depending on model of the damn Router as well. TP-Link N series will be easy to set up but it might not let your N900 download anything from App-Manager. Been there and done that. So my piece of advise is to reset your router and start from scratch.

To what kind of network are you connecting?

Does it have some kind of access list?

I had a problem but it was with WPA encryption. Start with no encryption then WEP then WPA.

No problem with WIFI here. And I have more than 20 connectinons. Some of them are free so I don't know what router they use, but for those I know, it works fine with Zyxel, Thompson ST28 and couple of different Linksys model and one very old Siemens.
My home network is set up with WPA2 personal and power save on N900 and works fine.

Hi,

Can you give us more details on the type of connection you are trying to establish, encryption and everything?

I know there is a bug with certain type of enterprise features that were not working before but have been fixed with PR1.2 (latest update).

I agree with comments above, power settings shouldn't have any effect.
