and then I decided to put more videos on my card (4GB SDHC class 4 PNY) and put the card in the card reader, and now, even after formatting it, it says "Cannot add Folder: The disk is write-protected.
Remove the write-protection or use another disk." I checked, it's not set to lock, and I never did anything else to it other than add media & play it back.

How do I fix this?

Check and make sure the tiny little write protect switch on the SD card is not switched on.

and it's recognizing the memory card both when its in the tablet plugged into the compy, and when the memory card is just in the card reader. however now I put the card in and its not playing any of the files.
