Hello,

after installing claws-mail-pgp-plugins and when trying to load the smime.so or pgpcore.so i am getting the following error:

/usr/lib/claws-mail/plugins/pgpcore.so cannot open shared object file: Too many levels of symbolic links

and this is because

/usr/lib/claws-mail/plugins/pgpcore.so is linked with
/opt/maemo/usr/lib/claws-mail/plugins/pgpcore.so

and

/opt/maemo/usr/lib/claws-mail/plugins/pgpcore.so is linked to /opt/maemo/usr/lib/claws-mail/plugins/pgpcore.so

ITSELF which make no sense.

I already tried to reinstall these packages but it doesn't work.
I still have 16% of free rootfs space.

Maybe someone could mail me the files

pgpcore.so
pgpinline.so
pgpmime.so

Or has a solution to this problem?

You could extract the package contents and copy them in the right places manually.

that actually worked

for all who would like to know how:

Download:

apt-get install claws-mail-pgp-plugins -d

Extract

dpkg-deb claws-mail-pgp-plugins /root/

Then under root you will have /root/opt where you can find the files

Thanks a lot

'afternoon all,

Thanks for the pointers; I've managed to get the plugins working.

Alas, when I try to read encrypted email, I get an error, "Couldn't decrypt: unsupported protocol".

The message that I'm am trying to decrypt is a PGP/MIME message that is both signed and encrypted. Claws can see the various body parts (it shows them on the screen as [application/pgp-encrypted and application/octet-stream) but it clearly has no idea what to do with them.

Any clues as to what mistakes I've made in the setup?

Thanks,
Tim.

PS: There is also a thread on this same topic on the developer's forum:

I've encountered the very same issue. The problem was in outdated libgpgme11 package. After update to version 1.3.0-1maemo7 that error messages dissapeared.

But there is another one bug, for which i haven't found out a solution yet: http://www.thewildbeast.co.uk/sylphe...ug.cgi?id=2240

So as for me, claws-mail now can check signatures, but can't do any action requiring passphrase entry.
