how do you get voicemail to work on the n900?

im in the UK on o2, if i dial 901 it says its setup, but when someone calls the phone just rings and rings and rings.

can anyone help?

Settings > Phone > Call forwarding > enable it. The number to forward to should be prefilled if you have an O2 sim in the device.

top man thats just what ive been looking for. the number is not pre filled, do i just use 901?

No, it's a full number needed - The number my device uses is +447802091901, I have no idea whether that's the same for all O2 users or not though.

interesting i put 901 in and it now goes through to voice mail

901 always worked OK for me (on Vodafone UK) until I disabled it.

I hate voicemail (text me if I don't answer!) - particularly on N900, where if the CPU is maxed out when a call comes in you risk it dropping to VM as you can't adjust the 20 second wait time before the call divert kicks in :-(
