Google Talk crashes N800 after a few minutes of talk time.

I am trying to use Google Talk to talk (voice only) with someone using Google Talk insalled on a PC.

The sound quality is very good, but the Nokia crashes after a few minutes. I need to reboot several times to even get to call the person again. At this point 10 minutes is the longest talking time.

Has any one else the same problem? Does anybody know a work around?

I have the latest OS 2007 installed. I am not sure how relevant it is but I am running in the red pill mode.

On a similar note, I tried to talk (voice only) to a N770 user who had installed the OS 2007 hacker edition. In that case, the best talk time was 1.5 minutes.
Anyone experiencing something similar?

Hello there,

I experienced the same problem, after a round 10 minutes the connection between the N800 Google Talk client and the PC client crashed. I also run the latest OS 2007 on my N800, but I'm not in the Red Pill mode.

Regards
Jens

You could try using Tapioca, it's a good alternative to the built-in client.

How well does Tapioca work on the N800?

Hi All

I had the opportunity to test video calling with another Nokia N800 and in 2 minutes the call is dead. There is a disconnect. No crash though .
I'll try tapioca and hope that skype works better and I do not have a defective unit.

Thanks for the replies.

This all sounds like an application memory leak issue to me.
