Hi,
I've been searching the forum for a definite answer on this issue.
I have a google apps account and I have set up MfE to work with it.
The initial sync went fine and all looks ok, but when I add a calendar event on the phone the sync breaks.
I have found on the forums mentions of MfE's support for gApps is accidental, can anybody confirm this for me ?

I can add contacts and they sync, I can delete mails and that gets synced, but calendar is touchy.
I wouldn't mind using a workaround, but erminig-ng is a little too alpha for my taste, does anyone have a more robust solution for me ?

Kind regards,

wzzl

That's correct - there is no official support for syncing with Google (as they don't use any of the standard MfE implementation versions, but a modified custom version).

To be honest, the calendar sync is touchy on all platforms. It's particularly known to fall over when hitting repeat events (on updates only - the initial sync is fine).

I've ended up just managing it manually. If I'm out of the office then I add any new appointments onto the N900 calendar, then add them manually to the Exchange server when I'm back in the office. Every now and then I sync the Exchange calendar to a new calendar on the N900, and delete the old MfE calendar on there, along with any copies of the newly-synced appointments in the N900 calendar. It's a faff, but it's the only way I can get it to work (especially as a failing calendar sync will also stop it from syncing emails).

As it does (and has for many years) on all Symbian phones.
