I'm a student. So I don't intend to live of this. But I would like to, for the first time in my life, make a few bucks on programming. I'm inspired by the developer of minecraft. But scaled down. This year I'm taking my Christmas vacation to make a nice project/app. In the months up to that, I will do research. Besides I'm very busy with school up until then anyway.

What I want from you is proper suggestions on what you would like to pay for? I know that opensource is big on this platform, but I'm gonna make a shot at it anyway.

The amount would of course depend on the project, so in regards to the project/app you've suggested also give me an estimate of what you would pay for it?

Since I have no experience with 3d what so ever, I don't think a 3d game is an option for me. 2d should be doable.

Thank you very much for you're feedback.

Edit: For the n900.

N900 is about the worst platform to program for if you want money.
You should consider Symbian/iPhone/Android if you want money.

A nice pretty GUI for the CPS2 emulator. That has gotta be worth £7. £10 if it handles CPS1 as well, £15 if you can also get CPS3 included.

Arif is correct, the N900 is an appalling platform to programme for, partly it's future with Meego being the chosen path, so make sure what you do is Meego based, not Maemo. Mainly however Linux is free, so the repositories are filled with free stuff. I wouldn't pay for anything on the N900 as there is most likely something for free if you just want to pass the time. I don't use it for a games system because of the limits with the phone.

Saying that the few things on OVI store worth getting include Angry birds and people pay for that, so a well planned and thought out game would have people falling over themselves to buy it, because there is so little out there.

I have paid for on other platforms that I would like on the N900 is some kind of tower defence game, 'plants versus zombies' rocks but they have to be something on that level of quality. The kind of quality that Angry birds has but a tower defence game. There isn't anything in the repository and a few posts round here and come up with suggestions for ports across.

I would buy that. I would suggest a price in line with other platforms, there is an issue with the pricing of angry birds, rip off on the N900 compared to the iphone etc.

Good luck though.
