As part of my 1.3 installation I lost my audio (except phone calls that still work). My guess is that in my efforts to clear up the file system erased one package too many. Or perhaps it is a permission problem.

Here is the output from panucci when I try to run it on a mp3 file:

Code:
/media/mmc1/RingTones $ panucci clink.mp3
/opt/panucci/lib/panucci/main.py:1116: GtkWarning: gtk_tree_view_get_path_at_pos: assertion `tree_view->priv->bin_window != NULL' failed

I also tried using gst-launch with playbin as explained on http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...tions_-_Part_I :

Code:
/media/mmc1/RingTones $ gst-launch playbin uri=file:///media/mmc1/RingTones/clink.mp3
Setting pipeline to PAUSED ...
Pipeline is PREROLLING ...
socket(): Address family not supported by protocol

Additional debug info:

ERROR: pipeline doesn't want to preroll.

I also noticed that pulseaudio is not running in the background. Should it be?

I removed "Extra Decoders Support" then rebooted. After that, every sound and movie files work again.

PS: I did try reinstall "Extra Decoders Support", the problems reoccured--no sound & unable to run movie files. So I uninstall it, for now or at least until an update of "Extra Decoders Support" comes.

Thanks v_n900! This solved the problem! Got both ringtones and audioplaying back working!

Just for the record, the gst pipe in my original message still does not work, but mediaplayer, panucci, and my incoming phonecall ringtone now works.
