Hi,

Just recently my N900 claims to be charging (the indicator on the battery is moving). However when I then look at it the phone has been discharging at a high rate and my battery is pretty much flat.

The screenshot here shows what I mean - plummtiting in the green part when it should be charging. I've rebooted, unplugged and plugged back in - all to no avail. just occasionally it will work. Anybody got any ideas. I coudl cope with the crap battery life when I could charge it at work - but now this is driving me nuts.

a) you are using the device while charging and draining more than it charges

b) You have a socket problem. With my charger, if I set it to charge and unplug the charger from the wall but not the jack from the phone, it never exits the charge mode because the residual charge in the charger and (maybe) because the voltage isn't sudden enough to trigger a removal - maybe it takes it as normal variation.

Try a better charger (different), the wall kind not the USB kind. If you have an European edition, use the adapter provided and charge from another charger.

Should the problem persist, there are some bugs to look at, followed by a reflash and finally by a trip to Nokia Care Center.

What is the software version?

Having the same problem as you NDI. When I plug it in it says charging on my battery indicator but when I unplug it, the battery is less than when I started.

Also, I unplugged it from the wall and not the phone and it still showed charging lol.

Phone problem?
