Hey guys,

To be very clear about the problem: My Touch screen from my Nokia N900 stopped working at all.

Long story:
I went out two days ago and someone spilled his beer all over my trousers. My nokia was exactly in the pocket where all the spilled beer came. I instantly took my phone and dried it but nothing helped. I couldn't get it on.

Once I got home I did put my phone into a bowl with dry uncooked rice in it. At the moment it's partly working. I do get a display and I see the nokia connecting hands but I can't type in my pincode. So my guess is that my touchscreen stopped working (duhh?).

How can I revive my phone again?

Maybe this is a solution:

Hope to hear from you guys soon.

Greetings,

Just with my Tshirt.

What is the difference between those two?

They look identical. The only difference seems to be the location/currency you have selected, but if you change that, they both come out at the same price, and they also seem to have the same part number.

It might be that your N900 hasn't actually dried out properly, so you may want to follow a disassembly guide to take it apart a bit, check that the contacts and any circuitry on the touchscreen is clean and leave a bit longer to dry before putting it back together.

Some liquid may have got behind your screen and messed with your LCD. happened to me, took a couple of weeks to dry out and work properly.

and the difference between those 2 screens is one is american and the other european, that's pretty much it. however your phone should still have warranty unless you have voided it?

Well it is water damage so the waranty isn't valid anymore. At least that's what I'm guessing?

Pff that I couldn't see the difference between those two. Just the currency. Sigh

Well at least thanks for now. I think i'm letting it dry a little more and maybe disassembly it. Thanks!

Kind regards.

Just don't say it's water damage since technically it's beer damage, just say the screen just stopped working and they should send it off

I believe the term is "moisture intrusion or corrosion" is not covered. Now I like a dry beer, but not so dry that it won't short out my phone if I spill it on it!

By all means simply state the presenting malfunction. No need to go into any explanation of causation.
