I think there are some third-party Snake games available. There's an interesting article about Nokia and Snake at All About Symbian: http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/featu...s_is_the_h.php

Thankfully Rovio is finnish so at least Rovio makes it's game available for Nokia, even for Maemo 5 that got it before Android that's afterall 20x larger userbase.

I don't know why old 2D snake can't be found in the Nokia phones. The 3D snake was just wrong what i tried it on some cheap S40 phone year or two ago.

Agreed the old skool snake is the best - any version I have since played sucks. Badly

For me the best version of Snake was on the Nokia 6133. Loved the goofy looking snake and the funky background music. This is the version I'd buy if it showed up in the Ovi store for my N900 or my N8-00.

Maybe it's hard porting a black and white version game into a sophisticated high pixel device
Well yeah AlmostTI is an exception

There is a Python snake game for the N900 in the repos. Not too shabby.

If you did have a port of the old game, what would you use to control it? My old Nokias had the keyboard at the bottom or the 4-way click pad that you could use. I don't like the idea of playing this with the keyboard--perhaps an onscreen 4-way button or a dot to slide around like a joystick?
