<irish accent> did ya try turning it off and on? </irish accent>

Seriously though - did you try taking the battery out then putting it back in? That seems to fix the problem when it happens to me.

What went wrong with the upgrade?

You arren't giving many details. If there is never a glimmer of power then it sounds like it's now a hardware problem, which usually means sending it back to Nokia.

Do you think the battery is dead?

Hei, sorry for the lack of details. It wasnt me who did the software playing around... but from what Ive been told the reinstalled one too many times and now it just doesnt work. I have tried several batteries, including known working ones. ( I have a couple of e61's same battery) Its weird. Is there a hardware reset built in? is there somewhere I can go if I take the cover off? reset the bios or something? Maybe a jumper setting?

When pressing the power button, does the D-pad blue led light come on?

I don't have the details what does that tell... but if you do not even see that happening it seems it really is seriously broken. If the light comes on then it tells that it does get power, power button is operational, and some code is running in the ARM-core. (Assuming the light is controlled by the CPU.)

If you do not see this light, then I'm afraid it is HW problem and need to be sent to Nokia for repair...
