Please help, at the moment i am having to import all contacts each time, so annoying.

Simple answer:

Backup
Flash RootFS and eMMC
Restore from backup

thanks- is there a simpler way to totally reset the device? an code or similar?

I had the exact same issue with contacts after flashing to PR1.3, the only way to resolve was to unfortunately flash both RootFS and the eMMC

the same here. It disappeared and i couldn't even restore it from backup.
Make backup and reflash emmc.
