I bought my N900 the first week it was released (flew out to New York and picked it up at the Flagship Store). I always used extras-testing and extras-devel. I have done little tweaks here and there such as creating my own transitions, disabling SSHd on boot, etc. I never HAD or wanted to reflash my device, in fact the closest I ever came to reflashing that I can remember is upgrading to PR1.2 and PR1.3. What about you guys?

I reflash every so often because...
After using it for a long time the Phone start to lag and as I test a lot of Applications, I flash it at least every month.

Only after buying (aftermarket) + one time when I was installing (for the first time) kernel-power with backupmenu-multiboot, and failed to prepare correct multiboot entry (resulting in that old amiga's reference "guru meditation error").

Other than that, I restored backupmenu image once, due to filesystem corruption via bad undervolting settings. Other than that, never got any problems. I think it's a matter of knowing what You install/modify, + not using "placebo" magical "patches", + doing overall sane things.

By the way, with correct treatment (swap refreshed to avoid fragmentation), device is as fast and responsive after week+ uptime, as just after boot.

Nope. Never. And I already have it for about a year
Probably because I only install apps from extras-testing (with some exception on several apps from devel), not installing CSSU, not even using power kernel, only install apps I need and once I found an apps suited for me, I never bother to try other similar apps (unless it has better reviews and already considered stable, then I'll replace the old one with this) so no clutters, and never install any "patches"

Are you kidding?
I full reflash at least 3 times a month! I as well don't use my N900 for calling, or as a personal device. (I have no contacts, photos, videos that I care of)

There has been the odd cock up but it's always been sorted with help from here. No flashing though.

I've had mine since month one as well, have always used devel and testing and have had to flash once. I believe it was a kernel power issue at the time but it's been so long I honestly don't remember what caused it anymore.
