just got my phone back from repair due to a faulty slide flex assembly and now when receiving a call i have to use the side slide switch to activate the display to be able to answer. same goes for when the alarm goes off. does this sound like a hardware thing or am i over looking a setting on the software side?

thanks!

to me it sounds like a software issue, but i don't think its as simple as a setting, does your screen turn off and on as expected when you cover the proximity sensor during a call.

didnt work. screen stays on until i use the slide switch. so if i get an incoming call i have to use the slide switch then tap answer the screen goes off and to end i have to use the slide switch and tap end call. very annoying.

well there may be an issue with the proximity sensor, but still thinking its a software issue, backup and reflash, and if that doesn't help get back to nokia care.

Isn't that the default behavior when the proximity sensor is covered during those situations? Perhaps the repair people left some little dirt in front of the sensor when they assembled your device back together?

i took it apart inspected the sensors and found no obstructions and lightly went over with a dry qtip head and resassembled. turned it on and called it and now its function correctly!! i guess a loose connection?
