when i use the mirror app it says the quality of the image depends on the version of the hardware and software. when using indoor light , ie in a room with one bulb, i can't see a thing unless i point the front camera directly at the bulb. when i do that i get a very fuzzy white blur.

then i saw this youtube video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5TDO9ok4sWI

and was quite shocked at the perfect quality.

i do have power kernel 46 and also the fcam drivers installed, but would like to know if the quality in the above video is normal for everyone else.

edit: i recommend looking at the video using cutetube and not microb to see the quality

i used smscon(it uses front cam to snap photo) and many people including me gets a BLACK image taken from the front cam.(search smscon thread for proof)

so how could that video gets so much better quality?(and this is blowing your mind ok)

this what i think.....

the video was perform in very much light, that is why quality is much better.you can his hands shining in the light.(that is what i think)

Try firing up the mirror proggie after making a video call with Skype; Skype seems to try to adjust the camera to adapt to the current environment settings, while most other programs that (try to) use the face camera apparently just turn it on.

Install the package gstreamer0.10-plugins-good-extra and open mirror app after, it will be a lot better.
