in my point of view there is now risk to install Power Kernel. I have installed it many times but never got any reboot loops. may be you have done something wrong. latest version of Power kernel is v50. its in extras devel repo. install it. if you dont now how to install it i will guide you.

Use apt-get or HAM. I don't think FAPMAN will work.

yes read the first post of dedicated kp50 thread. procedure is written there. if you want to also list default kernel in multiboot options at startup the open xterm and type
this will also install maemo default kernel to be used with multiboot.
root
apt-get install multiboot-kernel-maemo
actually I've put this post here

I have recently downloaded the latest update for CSSU-Testing and I have also the stock kernel
(2.6.28-omap1).
so does anybody know which version of kernel is most comatible to my software?
and i wanna know how safe/risky is it to get a new KP
because last time I tried to update the kernel the device went into a COMA and boot loops.and since then I have kernelo-phobia
If needed at all, is there a step-by-step guide to have a safe download of kenel-power in a comprehensive way to avoid bricking OS?
