Hello,

I've searched an awful long time for a way to sync my contact over the air (OTA) using my N900. I finally managed to do it using Microsoft for Exchange (MfE) and Google Sync. However, it doesn't seem to work with Hermes. I deleted all of my contacts from the N900 and then tried a sync. Everything worked fine, and my (300+) contacts were restored. I then used Hermes to update the contacts and get missing ones. Afterwards, I tried another sync, and it failed with:

"Synchronisation failed. Error in communicating with Exchange server."

It's pretty dissapointing because I really need a way to sync my contacts with some online service, and I also like Hermes.

I tried installing sysklogd and added activesync logging to see if I could spot something in the logs, but nothing at all showed up when I tried a sync.

Is there any other way at all to sync? I also tried SyncEvolution because I heard it could sync with Vodafone 360, but it seems they used to support ZYB before Vodafone took over, and then removed support. I also tried SyncEvolution with Ovi contacts, but that didn't work either.

Any help/suggestions would be much appreciated.

I know I can sync contacts using the Ovi PC Suite, but that's not a great option for me. I'd really like an OTA solution.

Thanks!

Good luck friend. Your MfE is now ****ed up beyond any help or recovery.

Firstly, no one here will help you because MfE is a closed source piece of **** so even the people who know how to fix the problems can't . I will be the only response you get, I can almost guarantee it.

I had this exact same error (and MfE is essential to managing a disability so I was invested in finding a solution.

Three days later I flashed my phone because there was nothing to do that made it work.

Good luck (and try nuevasync for syncing ... I'm on their basic pay plan and it was playing nice with MfE )
