Got hit by a car, and long story short.. I'm fine.. the phone isn't.

Need a new LCD screen (The touch screen is fine as its a pressure crack). Current cheapest (shipped to Australia) I can find is:

http://www.mobile-phone-lcd.com/n900...deu-p-331.html

Around 140AUD shipped. Anyone aware of a cheaper (legit) place to purchase from. I cry everytime I have to look at my N900 in it's current state.

Last week I went to Nokia Care looking for bluetooth headset and in the meantime asked them if they could do anything about the stuck pixel I have and the guy took the phone inside to the technician and came back saying it will cost me AUD 130 which will be replacing the LCD but cant guarantee anything coz they could be able to do that only after April 17 as from then they will have N900 in stock. So, I'd ask Nokia Care just the thing is you might have to wait but I guess that will cover the labour cost as well..NWZ, sorry to hear about the incident.

It's a US N900 and I'm in Australia. They don't cover it over here and I'm almost certain it isn't covered under warranty over there. Even if it were, spending the money to send it to the US.. and getting a mail forwarder to send it back is not a very cheap/practical way to do it. Also, I can't imagine Nokia over here wouldn't want an arm and a leg for it to be fixed =/

I'm quite capable of replacing the part myself.. I just need the cheapest place to get a screen =x

Ya same case here thats why I said AUD 130 which I guess is cheaper than what you mentioned - "AUD 140" but only the thing is I'm not sure if he's certain about the price and if that covers labour but if he's right and covers labour why not?

Well April 17th at the earliest is a very long time to wait to save $10. And if it's anything like their release in the US, it'll be much later than that anyway =/

Thanks for trying!

It's an international call to Nokia repair where I bought it and I know for a fact that it isn't covered under warranty. So after the cost of sending it, and using a mail forwarder to send it back to Australia.. its not going to be worth it.

I called Nokia and they recommended palcocellphonerepair.com I just got off the phone with them and they said they can have it back to me in under 10 days. The n900 isn't on their website but they do repair them. It's $72 to replace the screen + 8 bucks for shipping. Can't beat that, a new screen costs $62.98 then you have to replace it yourself taking the chance it'll break. I'll be shipping mines off shortly. I'll post how it goes
