Hi there. So I bought an N900 a few days ago, and I came across a strange problem regarding phone numbers:

Say I have a contact whose number is +972-54-xxx-xxxx, so the correspondent local number would be 054-xxx-xxxx. Now, if he calls me, the phone shows his local number (054) - but if he sends me an SMS, it shows in the conversations list as +97254.

If I have the local number in the contact card, then the phone doesn't recognise that contact's number in the conversations list. Though, and I have to stress this, when I open the conversation it does recognise it and shows the contact name. On the other hand, if I have the international number in the contact card, then the calllog shows the number but not the name. When I call the number, it does show the contact's name and picture. Help?

I'm having the same problem. For some reason it happens with only some of my contacts.

Any leads, anyone?

Edit:

Let me broaden on the call log and conversations thing.
I have a contact that works great with the short number of 054-555-5555 - shows in the conversations, call log, etc.
When I change the number to the full international with +972-54-555-5555, the number now does NOT display the name in the call log or conversation app. It shows as a number instead. When I open the number's conversation, it DOES recognize it.

I can just leave it without the +972, but now what FDaihatsu is having is even more confusing - with +972 (full number) it shows well only in the call log, and without it, it shows well only in the conversations app.
This is extremely random.

I have recently started with the same problem. Never had this problem before.

I have all my contacts saved as the national style.

Recently text messages have been recieved/displayed in the international style on the Conversations list, so the contact looks like it's not in your contacts.
Upon opening the Conversation the contact appears with it's name/picture and the previous conversations.

When you reply to the same contact, the Conversations list displays the name/picture as it should.

Had my N900 about 18 months or so now and this has only just occured, three weeks after a reflash.
Any help would be great, thanks.
