It seems in the aftermatch of Bug 6746 the Mass Storage is no longer available when the phone is turned off and charging from USB. How do I re-enable that functionality?

you sure is not a plug and play windows issue with the driver?

What version of windows you using?
Recommend windows XP for n900, stay away from windows 7 and vista, and in particular 64-bit versions.

I've never been able to use my N900 as a mass storage device when turned off... If still available... It's not that good in terms of security. Why add a password if you can gain access to emmc when turned off?

LOL.

Really, Loooool.

First off, the comments in the bugreport make it clear that change was scheduled to be included in PR1.2. Second, I went from first firmware in steps to the 4th, full reflash each. Between 3rd and 4th the functionality disappears. Facts match the documentation.

Thanks anyway ;-)

When phone is turned on, N900 presents two mass storage devices -- sg3 & sg4. One has no media, cause I have no card ATM, so only sdc is available:

When N900 is turned off (and of course connected again, so it charges), it presents two devices again (sg3 & sg4), but no media in either, so no sdc:

Remarks: yesterday, when I had a microsd card in it and it was turned OFF and charging, it still did not present any media.

Back then when it was brand new, with original (== old) firmware, it presented both mass storage devices with media. That continued up to 4th version of firmware.

Same when re-flashed and upgraded step-by-step by hand -- the functionality disappears between 3rd and 4th firmware.
