I know I am a little behind with this but I am trying to update my n900 to PR1.3(I believe) and everytime I try to do it over the air in the app manager it says I must download Nokia PC suite and connect my N900 to the computer and upload that way. The problem is I don't have a Windows box and I was wondering what other ways I could update. any help is greatly appreciated.

Not that this helps you much, but back in October when PR1.3 was released, I tried to do it over-the-air and it failed. I hooked it up to Ovi Suite on my pc and it worked just fine. I know you don't have a pc, but you should try to get to one if you can, download Ovi Suite (free) and try that.

Knowing that Nokia cut the ropes to the N900 last year, I wouldn't be at all surprised to find out that PR1.3 isn't on their OTA servers anymore.

Good luck!

The first thing I would try would be opening xterm, becoming root and running apt-get update and apt-get upgrade and then apt-get dist-upgrade.

If that doesn't work, you need to cut drastically down on the number of programs using rootfs, or just programs in general (you can run a backup first, of course).

Basically, that message is telling you it doesn't have enough memory to do things the easy way.

One easy way to get extra memory is disable catalogs in App Mgr.
