I don't know how many times I have to tell people that the N800 is NOT a phone and why it is better NOT being a phone, so I posted an editorial video all about that.

Funny part right in the middle too.

Clicky.

I thought it was a great video... I've got it saved on my N800 to show someone just in case they start asking about the phone features of the N800.

But now we have skype, which makes it a phone. I am so confused.

And more and more towns or regions are now quite fully covered by WiFi, so the use of the N800 as a phone will be more and more common.

Thoughtfix is wrong.

Hahaha. Well, it has phone features, yes, but thankfully no carriers or providers to worry about.

Yes, when you said there was something funny, I thought you were going to finish your statement and suddenly the N800 would ring and you'd quickly pick it up and say, "Helllo."

Sorry, you're not funny (this time).. You're right! You're so right. For years I am trying to find a device to make the internet carryable. First try was a palm Vx with infrared connected to a siemens phone. It worked for email, but surfing was a pain and very gray. Then the Dell X51v connected to a 6310i. Browsing was better, but still not really good. I also tried smartphone's, but they have to many compromises.
Now the n800 connected to a very cheap nokia 6021 does the job. I have gprs when there is no wifi and that is not often. Unfortunaly whe don't have no starbucks here, but there are alternatives here.

ok, it was a bit funny, half way through ;-)
