Hi
i have a new N900, the tech center replaced my 1st one to new one because of a serious problem with USB that didn't work. So yesterday i set everything up again and noticed, that with a 3G/GSM/Dual switch widget i cannot switch network mode.
I then went to SETTINGS > PHONE and noticed, that no matter if i change something and then save it, the next time i return to phone settings i still see the same old setup.

Can you help me and explain what i can do to have it changable?

Thanks

This hapanned to me once. Some kind of bug. Whatever I changed in settings would not save. Simple restart of the device fixed it. Hope it could help you.

i don't know how to restart (as a process), i just shut the phone off, and then start it again, but it didn't help

Maybe it's possible to edit some configuration file with txt editor instead?

Have you made sure that your device is not connected to any networks - 3G/GSM or WLAN - before you try to change the settings?

Does anyone know what xml or other sort configuration file keeps the settings data? I could just browse to that file and check it out to edit the data to my needs...

Or maybe somebody could tell me what command to use to search for data in files in all the disk? So i could locate the config file by searcing for data from settings...

I am having this problem also. This was the first thing I tried to do when I got my n900 back. Tonight I did even try to flash the device but without success.

This was a bug on the original firmware, are you sure you are up to date?

I actually had the opposite problem, wouldnt turn off redirect on another phone so I put the SIM in my N900 to do it.
