I'm trying to gain root and it states to save and quit XTERM via the ESC and SHIFT+ZZ commands... I cant find these keys lol

do i have to type "shift ZZ" or is there a shift key?

There is a shift key, its below the capslock.

You can also swipe upwards on the character you wish to have in uppercase with the stylus to get the shifted version of that character.

ZZ in vi is a write and quit command. no 'shift' needs to be written.

And ESC is the hardware button below D-pad, the one with arrow symbol.

In vi editor ESC terminates the edit mode. After this you can write "ZZ" to save and quit.

This is neat!!! Are there any other shortcuts like this not explained in that ungodly uninformative manual?

is there a way to swap keys on the virtual keyboard? i.e. the '@' and backspace; the carriage return key for the exclamation point; the symbol set key for the question mark; numpad to far right of layout?

These gestures were mentioned in the built-in help function of my 770:
A line downwards on top of the on-screen keyboard = Enter,
to right = Space,
to left = Backspace.

Also, you can delete multiple characters easily by doing zig-zag movement with your stylus. Left-right for two characters, left-right-left for three etc.
