hey ive been getting an error of internal error. application email closed. i dont even use email. i get the error like every 2 minutes. its so annoying that i cant use my phone. every 2 minutes the error shows. any idea how i can fix this?

I have had this problem for about a year, it was reduced after i applied the attatched patch with this command:

tar xzf modest-3.4.2-baxyp-1.tar.gz -C /

hey thanks. i will try this. any idea why this happened? and does it remove completely by this patch? what do u mean by reduced? how many times do u get the error now?

hey i applied the patch. but still its coming in the same duration. is there any other way? or maybe is there anyway to remove modest? i tried apt-get but it would remove many things if i remove modest. or is there anyway to delete its files or anything so that it cant start? because i dont need it

modest has a problem where it crashes ever so often. this happens to me maybe once or twice per week. try to reinstall the package

apt-get install --reinstall and the name of the package
i cant remember whats the exact name of the modest client but dol a google search for reinstall modest nokia n900 and you should find some instructions

I am also getting this fairly often. Usually while email app is running though.

i'll post the instructions how to reinstall tomorrow, no time now

here is what you need:

if anybody need to reinstall nokia messaging on n900



simply you go to your app manager and you install the rootsh package which will allow you to hack ur system in root privileges .



then you open your terminal and you type exactly the following :



sudo gainroot



if you need to to reinstall nokia messaging :



apt-get update



then



apt-get install --reinstall nokiamessaging



if you dont have nokia massaging and you need to reinstall it :



apt-get update



then



apt-get install nokiamessaging



if you need to reinstall all the nokia mail client system simply do :\



apt-get update



then



apt-get install --reinstall modest

then apply the patch that i posted above

I have gone through all the steps of @carlon but the error message is still appearing every 2 mins.
