hi all

here http://wiki.maemo.org/OpenJDK_6.0_0_..._Labs)_on_N900

I cannot download it , links are dead . I know there are icedtea but I think it is bad I try to run a gui java program it complains about missing some librays I used to use OpenJDK long time and gui application works fine

I googled about link and found this but not related to Maemo

alternative link : http://downloads.lacie.nas-central.o...-camswl.tar.gz

is it different ?

decompressing it under opt and symlinks are fine except when I type
Code:
chown -R user:users OpenJDK-camswl
the result

Code:
chown : OpenJDK-camswl/jre/lib/rhino.jar: No such file or directory
I think because it is different port of JDK not for n900

If you need the JDK, there should be an ARM version available from debian.org; just make sure you can meet all the dependencies.

If you just want to run java s/w, the easiest is to get the JRE (SE) from Oracle - there are some instructions on TMO & Wiki for how to make it and java programmes execute on the N900.
