On my N900 when I run apt-get update I get the following output:

:
:
:
Fetched 988B in 22s (43B/s)
Reading package lists... Done
W: Conflicting distribution: http://repository.maemo.org fremantle-1.3 Release (expected fremantle-1.3 but got )
W: GPG error: https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com ./ Release: The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY ADB4438160A655EF
W: You may want to run apt-get update to correct these problems

There appear to be two separate issues here. Anyone can give some hints on how to fix this?

Both are just warnings: The GPG error is from a PR1.2 OVI repo, which is useless in PR1.3 anyway. Disable it in the application manager. For the conflicting distribution warning edit the distribution name from extras repository to fremantle-1.3.

So I solved the PR1.2 OVI repo issue by removing it, as you suggested. I am still getting this warning though:

W: Conflicting distribution: http://repository.maemo.org fremantle-1.3 Release (expected fremantle-1.3 but got )
W: You may want to run apt-get update to correct these problems

For the record, the subscribed repositories are:

deb https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fremantle/ssu/apps/ ./
deb https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fremantle/ssu/mr0 ./
deb http://repository.maemo.org/extras/ fremantle-1.3 free non-free
deb http://repository.maemo.org/community-testing/ fremantle free non-free
deb http://repository.maemo.org/extras-devel/ fremantle-1.3 free non-free

It could be that the extras-devel distribution should be fremantle instead of fremantle-1.3.

That did the trick, thanks.

Though I do not understand why the repositories listed by fapman are different from those in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/hildon-application-manager.list. That file was slightly different from what fapman shows. For example, fapman showed that extras-devel had the distribution as just fremantle, while hildon-application-manager.list had it as fremantle-1.3.

I found the best way was to edit /etc/apt/sources.list.d/hildon-application-manager.list directly. Use leafpad if you don't already have that very handy editor installed. Simply remove the line referring to the PR1.2 OVI repo. Make sure that the GPG error is due to that first, though. It could be for a different reason.

The settings (= repositories) for HAM and FAP are separate and independent of each other.

apt-get shares the settings with HAM though.
