Is it possible to make x86 Linux bins run on N900 this way?

You can run most console x86 linux binaries with qemu-i386. Search for adom on TMO, 009N created a package that got qemu as well as some standard libs required for it (plus adom lin x86 binary). Roguelikes emulation thread got link to a package with it as well (if the links are still alive, it was a bit big so hosted outside).

it is most certainly possible, however many programs do not run (old wine) and nptl is not supported so only old versions of wine work. Give it a shot though, it is great, i run it on my n900

start reading on from there, i believe the tutorial on that page is not the right one, its the one with a wine.tar.gz
