Hi,

I've used N900 before and i was in love with that phone until it got stolen .. after a year i have NOW purchased N9 for US$ 587. And i'm super excited and happy with my purchase.

I just want your help in guiding me how to check if my Nokia N9 is all original and i'm having second thoughts about it - since it reads CLASS B under "About the device" tab in settings. I am also reading about Updates pr 1.1 and i've checked it from my cell and as well as Nokia software updater - but theres no update.. so how do i update .. and is my device original i mean there's not 2 kinds out there, one that gets the updates and ones that dont .. i sound stupid dont it pls help

Hiya, and welcome !

First, you seemed to have got a good price for your N9. And be happy, because it's a great phone and I'm sure you have many hours of fun with it.

I think 'class b' in the About Product screen is only reference to technical compatibility or type of a component/software. It does not mean second rate. Mine has the same reference and I know it's a genuine N9. I am sure a knowledgeable member will be able to give more information on this technical reference for you!

Now to PR1.1. This is still being rolled-out. Two questions for you:

1. What is the version number of your device. Look in the About Product screen. You may already have PR1.1

2. Slide out your SIM tray (from the top right of the device). What is the reference on the lable? This will indicate what region firmware you have.

"good" just means "as it should be".
