Hello dear members,

Last night I removed the battery from the phone due to the fact that it stopped responding while browsing the internet while using Opera mini browser.

When trying to boot again... it simply does not. I get the small white led without any vibration and without any image on the tablet display. I hear the nokia sound and thats it. Still no light or image on display whatsoever

I tried connecting the n900 with USB trick and later reflashing it but no luck. I even tried plgging it in the TV but there is no image transmited only black screen and nokia sound during boot.

Very strange ?? What should I do... ??

I would be grateful for any kind of advice...

I tried removing the battery for one entire day and did what you suggested as well (removing the battery and mmc and holding the power button).

I am pretty sure that the battery is alright.

I did not tweak the phone at all. I had PR 1.3 installed and avoided installing extras-devel. The phone was never overclocked. I had a few games, office tools with popular software such as opera mini and such. Prior to this problem I had not made any modifications (software installing) for at least 6 months.

That is why this is a strange situation.

As I said the phone turns on as such :

1. white led light

2. nokia tune - but absolutely no display

3. since I re-flashed the phone (without any displayed image or backlight on the tablet during the process) I noticed that after the nokia booting tune... there is a sound and light vibration when I tap on the phone....

should I change the LCD display or the phone motherboard or ???

Thank you for the replies.
I tried what you suggested.

I removed the battery, mmc and sim card and tried holding the power button for 5 min (not easy to do )... Unfortunatelly that did not help and I still have the same problem. I even tried removing the battery for 12 hours yesterday but that did not help either.

I did not tweak the phone at all. I had PR 1.3., standard software (opera mini, office tools), no extras-devel... I did not install anything for the past 6 months. The phone was not exposed to cold or hot conditions... The only thing I did was putting some music and videos on the phone. I use win7 x64.

After flashing the device it still acts the same on boot :

1. white led (no vibration)
2. no image and backlight on display
3. I can only hear the nokia tune on boot
4. after reflashing the device I could notice that there is a sligh sound and a small vibration when I tap on the device
5. When I call the phone it does not ring
6. when I plug it into the TV there is only a black image...

wierd situation ???

should I change the motherboard or LCD display ?
