dpkg-reconfigure locales
The Following User Says Thank You to michaaa62 For This Useful Post: | ||
i want to set off by telling you that i am not the most dvanced linux (debian) user. meaning i have used it on a desktop computer for very simple tasks and thats about it.
my problem is that i would like to run bittornado under easy debian on my n900.
when i try to install bittornado using the synaptic package manager, i get the following message:
not all changes and updates succeeded.
Details:
perl: warning: falling back to standard locale ("C")
locale: cannot set LC_CTYPE to default locale: no such file or directory
locale: cannot set LC_MESSAGES to default locale: no such file or directory
locale: cannot set LC_ALL to default locale: no such file or directory
debconf: unable to initialize frontend: gnome
debconf: (unable to load gnome --- is libgnome2-perl installed?)
so i manually tried to install libgnome2-perl but it gave me the exact same message:
not all changes and updates succeeded.
Details:

could someone maybe take me by the hand and walk me trough this?
it would be greatly appreciated. THX in advance!
