Do you think it's worth to ask Nokia (someone within Nokia?) to push for open sourcing some useful Harmattan components that could benefit Mer community? For example e-mail client could be really useful. Since Harmtattan just switched to the frozen mode (no new bugs are accepted on Bugzilla) it shows that Nokia at last decided to give it a final cut. Since they aren't interested in it anymore, what should Nokia loose if they open source some parts of it?

I'd really like to see that, but it's possible they'll refuse due to using some of them in Meltemi.

I don't really care about swipe gesture - it's something you can implement on other systems if needed, and its implementation is specific to Harmattan to benefits others. But some pieces of software like e-mail client are really useful.
