I'm preparing a cradle mod, with full USB connectivity - the basic idea is to both charge and connect the phone without taking a toll on the precious microusb.
It will use the PCB pads as listed on http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=997818&postcount=9 and exposing them behind holes in the case
Then I was thinking about using needles and springs (like most DECT phones cradles) with a custom cradle made of lego like this one:
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...ght=usb+cradle
Has anyone done something similar?
Couldn't find anything in the forum. I'd be interested by the experience of those who have a broken usb port and use the PCB pins instead on a daily basis.
From what I've read it works the same, but I'd be interested in weird things that they have experienced, to see if I should change anything in my plans (a bit weak on the electronic side - no active components are planned in my cradle :-)

EDIT- found http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...8&postcount=20 so I guess I'll use the micro USB solder points instead
EDIT - changed title
