Devicelock-enable is a very simple shell script, which locks the device (devicelock) and optionally locks the touchscreen (tklock). The package also adds a "Lock Device" button to the application menu.

I have always wanted to have an ability to lock the device manually, but before Inception it wasn't possible due to the limited number of Aegis credentials available to third party programs. With the help of Inception I did a very simple shell script and I thought that others might be interested too. If you are concerned about security issues, you may open the debian package and check the contents. Everything is in plain-text format.

Installation:
Code:
1. Enable developer mode
2. Install Inception (http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=82835)
3. Launch a terminal app
4. Download devicelock-enable-script (http://www.jlranta.com/stuff/harmatt....0-0_armel.deb)
5. "devel-su"
6. Incept the installation: "/usr/sbin/incept devicelock-enable-script_1.0-0_armel.deb"
Removal:
Code:
1. Launch a terminal app
2. "devel-su"
3. "apt-get purge devicelock-enable-script"
Usage:
* Lock the device using the button in the application menu
* Lock the device by executing the script:
* "devicelock-enable" will enable the device lock
* "devicelock-enable --lock-screen" will enable the device lock and lock the touchscreen
* With the help of n9-button-monitor (http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=82538) it is also possible to lock the device using a hardware button

Thanks for the script, but the problem for openmode users is that the device cant be locked at all, because we cant enter any password for it...

so this app will only puts the phone into standby without asking for any password...

Maybe adding an option for openmode users to force some "selfmade password screen"? a screen that you cant swipe it away untill you enter the correct pass. will be a great workaround
