I have an N800 running OS2008. I'm having trouble using the included "Internet Call" app. I've configured a SIP account using info provided by my VOIP service, Viatalk. I believe everything is set up correctly, with the proper user name, server, and password.

Here's the problem. I can dial out just fine. I can also receive calls just fine. The problem is, I get no sound on the N800 speakers. The mic works fine. The other caller can hear me. I just can't hear anything on the N800. It doesn't matter if I use bluetooth, external speakers, or a wired headset. Same problem, no sound received. Also, the speakers (etc.) work just fine for everything else. In fact, when I make a call, I can even hear the outgoing ringtone, but as soon as the call connects, the speakers go dead. During the conversation, I can still hear system sounds, like the clicking of the stylus, etc., just no received audio.

I'm using my home's wireless network with FIOS broadband which works fine for everything else. Also, if I use my VOIP hardware adapter with my wired network and a phone, the Viatalk works perfectly, and, yes, I did disconnect the hardware adapter before I even set up the N800 and tried it.

If anyone has any suggestions as to how I can get this to work, I would greatly appreciate the help. I'll be happy to provide any additional info if needed. Thanks.

Hey Paul.

Try sliding the volume bar just a titch in any direction after your phone has made it's connection and see if that corrects your issue.

Wow, thanks for the very fast reply. I tried changing the volume, both for the call in the phone application and also the master volume for the N800. I could hear the touchpad clicks, but it didn't help the problem. Still no sound.

I also have an N800 and usually get the same results as you. However, I'm using a Google Voice account.

Once connected, sliding the volume bar for the phone call, not the master volume always, always corrects for this known bug.

Not sure what's going on as to why that doesn't work on your end.

Try to disable all system sounds (applications -> control panel -> sounds).

Check your OS that you have on your tablet (applications -> control panel -> About Product). It should say Version: 5.2008.43-7.
