OK, so I am developing a multiboot loader for N9 and currently I have some problems with kexec to 2nd-stage Harmattan OS.

What I really need now is a serial console on the device, but I would hate to drill holes in the chassis of my main device for this purpose

I would like to buy such a broken device, that for example has for example a broken screen or whatever that makes it unusable as a normal phone but that would still be able to boot up and be flashed.

What I aim to do is to wire up the serial console pads from the device to external leads that I can debug the boot messages from.

Is this one too broken (the description says that it reacts when you connect the charger)?

Looks like it got under a steamroller
That might do if the internals are OK but still... looks like it got bashed not only on the screen, but on the top end also where the connectors are located.

Yes, I don't want to imagine what has happened to that N9

If it does work the way you need it, you may get a cheap test device, though the price is slowly going up.

Seems that the price of even broken N9's climbs quite high on online auctions. That's a shame since you never really know if the device is totally useless or if it could be adapted as a debugging platform.

So, rather than trying to compete with people on the auctions I would like to make the following proposition;

If someone sells me a broken unit that fills my needs, instead of paying to you I will donate the agreed price of the device to Hildon Foundation.

This way you can get rid of your broken unit, and at the same time get the nice feeling that you have contributed to the future of this forum.

* Bump *

I reall do need this...

Now that I am developing ubiboot integrated version, seems I have hit a wall. I desperately need serial console to scale it

So, if anyone is intrested on ubiboot and has a broken/spare device I am in need of one to use as debugging platform...
