I have an N800, latest 2007OS loaded, and today noticed that the blue backlight around the scroll key is flashing on with approximately an 8 second cycle. Last night the screen backlight was flashing off at about the same frequency but a reboot fixed that.

I can't recall that the scroll key backlight ever flashed before except at power on.

Has anyone similar experience or any idea if there's an option driving this behaviour?

There's an option to enable/disable the LED in Control Panel -> Display.

Thanks, that was a "doh!". I was looking around the menus a few days ago & had clicked on "Show LED lights" in the display settings dialog without realising its effect.

Not a good idea to have that on unless you need to find your IT in a dark room, my battery life seemed markedly shorter with it on.
