hello guru users i am tired of my phone;
Firstly, it would turn off a few minutes later after i launch opera browser even having full battery. If i want to use opera for long hours, i need to plug in the charger.
Secondly, my application manager keeps on refreshing everytime i launch it of after downloading an application. The refreshing usually takes long.
And much more when i'll have solution for these i'll post other problems.

1. Learn how to write useful thread titles. "Help me again please" is about as useless as it gets.

2. Get a new battery. Going down from full to empty in a few minutes like that is a clear indicator that your battery is nearly dead.

3. Tha stock application manager is painfully slow. A simple solution is not to use it all the time: find a stable set of application you use and leave it at that. Keeping installing and uninstalling applications all the time tells more about you than about your phone. If you really can't resist fiddling, consider using Faster Application Manager.

I agree with you that HAM's auto updating every time you start it is a big pain. However there is also a way to disable it and refresh list manually when needed. Here is the method:

Open Xterminal and type:
Code:
gconftool -s --type int /apps/hildon/update-notifier/check_interval 1440000
And press enter. Now disconnect your N900 from internet and Open HAM and go to the application list and when it asks for internet connection don't connect it.

When its done with loading applications, now connect your N900 to internet and update/refresh your application list manually.

Pichlo, Nokiabot and Panjgoori got it right man....
something ain't right inside your device...too bunged up...if opera is closing shortly after opening. Use 11.5 opera as suggested.
Definitely clean yer system out man...Reflash.

I like others found the ugly sharp end of FAM not as pleasing even though it is appealing as to how fast it performs...it makes a mucky mess...I suggest stay away from FAM...just use HAM.

If you are an all day user...and a heavy user at that...plugging in is an option.
I only do such power hungry apps all day long on my older (n8x0) devices...with them plugged in...(not on my n900)...
The suggestion of a new batt. is a good idea...
We do not know your consumption levels...ie.

A- the batt. says initially it'll give you 8hrs...then you run something and it wants to chew through that 8hr supposed charge in less than 2hrs. (meaning your batt is pretty much on it's last legs)

B- Or sure the batt could be in peak performance...and do 8 hrs heavy work...10 days standby ...in which case...suck it up man...not too many people got a full multi-distro compu-phone in their pocket that can do what it can for 8 hrs.

If 8hrs isn't enough...get another battery..I got 4 extras each for my Nxx0 devices...in case I want to do tremendous heavy usage...and a solio (solar charger batt.) as emergency back-up on top of that.

And ya...when you finish your reflash...
A- Tweak only what you need to...
B- You know what progs you like best by now....and what few you wish to try...install only those.
So spend those hours configuring your system...wisely.
Then when you have it exactly how you like it...and runnin fly too...
And be savvy with power consuming stuff...leaving the phone...wifi...bluetooth...while downloading...while watching movies ...WILL eat your battery's charge...there are tweaks ...learn to use them efficiently .
And once you got the progs you like...don't mess with it anymore... installing and uninstalling...
So to recap.
Reflash.
Set it up to be optimal.
Install what you want and need.
Be power consumptive savvy.
and lastly...
Back-it-up.
Then you have a copy on hand of your set up the way you like it and can simply prest-o change-o have your system back in a heartbeat anything goes wonky....and you won't be going through the same steps over and over...
Listen close ...these guys and everyone else with a n900 know the goods and have been where you are at.
